Welcome to Rust College - Admissions Criteria

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION AS A FRESHMAN
The minimum requirements for admission to the College as a freshman student with regular status are as follows:

  • Satisfactory completion of the work of a high school approved by a state and/or regional accrediting agency, or its equivalent as expressed through scores on the General Education Development (GED) Test.  The student's high school transcript must include the following minimum distribution of units and a grade point average of C or better.

              English.............................................................................4 units

              Social Studies...................................................................3 units

              Mathematics.....................................................................3 units

              Natural Sciences...............................................................3 units

              Electives...........................................................................6 units

                                                                                                                      Total 19 units

*Two letters of recommendation, should be completed by the principal, assistant principal, counselor or teacher from the school of which the student graduated. In addition, recommendation letters will be accepted from a learned educational advocate within your community (ex: pastor or
college graduate). All transfer students must submit recommendations from their advisors, instructors or a learned educational advocate within your community.
*An immunization shot record
*Transfer students must submit transcripts from ALL previously attended schools.
